Vignerons du Vieux Tinailler

A dynamic and united group of winegrowers

The story begins at the start of the Great Depression when, in 1929, a handful of Beaujolais winegrowers decided to join forces in order to get through the economic crisis affecting them at that time. Over the years, the winery's capacity and production have increased and the equipment has been continuously modernised. The Vignerons du Vieux Tinailler vineyards are spread over 14 Beaujolais appellations, including 10 Crus. The winegrowers work with a broad diversity of terroirs. Most of their vineyards are over 50 years old and are planted at high density (around 10,000 vines/ha). This results in yields that are always under 50 hl/ha and of very concentrated grapes. With the exception of the Chardonnay, grown to produce Beaujolais Blanc, Bourgogne and Coteaux Bourguignons, Gamay is the only grape variety planted in the Beaujolais.
