A domaine in Fleurie founded by the first women president of a wine cooperative
The Louis Chavy wine company was founded 60 years ago by Louis Chavy, an owner/grower in Puligny-Montrachet and at the Domaine de la Vierge Romaine in Chassey-le-Camp. Louis Chavy, born in 1919 in Puligny Montrachet, came from a family who had worked the Puligny Montrachet vineyards for several centuries. He founded his négociant business in order to be able to offer his customers an even wider range than that of his own fine Burgundy wines. The current owners of Maison Louis Chavy are now perpetuating the tradition that had been established for several decades by the great wine lover that Louis Chavy was. Maison Louis Chavy therefore remains a small négociant business, specialising in quality wines and mainly those from the Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits and Côte Chalonnaise.
