This family domaine in the small village of Fontenay, 2 km from the town of Chablis, covers 42 hectares of vineyards of various Chablis appellations. The Chatelain de Oliveira family has owned the domaine for several generations, working the Chablis region's very special soil known as "Kimmeridgian" dating from the Jurassic period and made up of pebbles, limestone and clay. The 42 hectares of the Chatelain de Oliveira family domaine are split over 4 different Chablis appellations: 7 hectares of Petit Chablis; 31 hectares of Chablis; 3.5 hectares of Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume; 0.5 hectare of Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos".
